Flat Roof Solar: Seamless Installations on EPDM Membranes
Flat roofs sealed with EPDM or similar watertight membranes are ideal candidates for solar energy. With a ballasted racking system, we ensure the installation process is secure, efficient, and completely non-invasive.

The Process for Flat Roof Solar Installations
-
Ballasted Racking System: Instead of penetrating the roof, we use a system of lightweight fiberglass baskets by DynoRaxx. These baskets hold the solar panels securely in place.
-
Protective EPDM Layer: To safeguard the roof, we place EPDM “door mats” beneath each basket, maintaining the membrane's integrity.
-
Concrete Pavers for Ballast: Concrete tiles are added to the baskets, weighing down the system and ensuring stability against wind and other elements.
-
Efficient Energy Optimization: DC Optimizers are directly bolted to the frame of each module. These devices maximize energy output while ensuring a safe and grounded system.

Why Choose Ballasted Solar for EPDM Roofs?
-
Preserves Roof Integrity: No drilling means your roof stays leak-free and fully protected.
-
Durable Design: Engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions.
-
Versatile Application: Suitable for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential properties.

Conduit runs are supported either on the baskets or with sturdy feet as is visible here in the lower right.
